Dreaming The Happy Hours Away

I have just received a much loved (read: beat up) copy of The Woman Beautiful or Maidenhood, Marriage and Maternity, 500 pages of advice about everything pertaining to a young woman's life. My copy is so far gone that I can't be sure of the publisher, but other copies are dated from 1901 and the authors listed as Monfort B. Allen M.D and Amelia C. McGregor M.D., apparently they wrote a few of these all encompassing advice books. But remember, books such as these are often all a young gal had to get her through. We'll look at several bits here and be thankful we don't have to live under these rules, charming as they sound.

Halloween

Here are just a few of my favorite Halloween ideas I've found this week. I LOVE Halloween! Brian told me I didn't have a budget this year for decor... ha ha it's because last year I spent like five years worth of a reasonable Halloween budget. It was a little ridiculous. So I don't blame him!

I found this cute little number on Etsy. And it's sold. LAME! I'm thinking a DIY tutorial... oh wait, I don't have my own front door. DANG. In a few years maybe!

Over at Country Living I found this awesome tree... made with pumpkins. Awkward? No. Awesome!

I am completely in love with these Halloween Trees right now. Maybe not this exact one... but something like it! This grouping needs like an orange table runner... or something... And I'm not a fan of the random skull or the boo sign. But I LOVE the tree!

A Few of My Favorite Things

Meet Molly. Gorgeous huh? Mommy of THREE boys. Respect, that's what I have for her. Holy crap! She is a lifestyle blogger over at A Few of My Favorite Things, which has quickly become one of my very favorite blogs.

Molly blogs about motherhood and fashion. She has a wonderful way with words. You'll read all about her every day life experiences {with three boys} and yes, you will be inspired.

See how she does it? She has this way of making you reflect on your life and appreciate all the wonderful things you have!

Before I was a mom I did things when I wanted. I worked out when I wanted, I showered when I wanted, I played when I wanted. And then all of a sudden this life wasn't about ME anymore. It was about Boston. I can't even pee by myself these days! Yes, it is hard. And sometimes I think I'm going crazy. But then you realize that this little life you are raising is bigger than yourself.

I am living now for something BIGGER than myself.

And there is a satisfaction in that, that no job in this world could give.
