Kinetic Traces Heels with Shock Absorbers by Silvia Fado

If you like to go highly sculptural with your fashion choices, then you will probably be happy to learn that there is a way to satisfy your eccentric side without having to compromise on comfort. Introducing the awesome Kinetic Traces (really high) heels with built-in shock absorbers!

The collection was created by visionary shoe designer Silvia Fado, who didn’t even feel like it was her duty to hide the shock absorbers. Instead, she went on with naturally incorporating the technology into the cutting edge designs, thus creating a new design language that we absolutely love!

An intelligent combination of elements such as rubber balls, metal rings, springs and pneumatic hydraulics has led to jaw-dropping footwear that is both quirky and comfy. The height of some heels may seem dizzying and consequently highly uncomfortable, but Fado promises a surprisingly comfortable experience with each model.

The shoes are the result of a lot of research and effort, as Fado worked with a photographer and an architect to really observe every detailed aspect of high-heel movement. She studied shoe weight, impact absorption, durability and traction, and made sure that all of her creations would pass the test of design, wearability and function.

Incredible Adidas by Rick Owens Springblade Sneaker

Boasting a classic design, innovative technologies and premium materials, the adidas by Rick Owens Springblade sneaker was unveiled during the Paris Fashion Week event, where it was highly appreciated by adidas fans. It’s not hard to understand why such a fantastic sneaker would become popular, especially once we consider its eye-catching and highly advanced Springblade sole technology.

The kicks were made out of high quality leather, mesh and suede, which means that they are lightweight, comfortable and breathable. Apart from their classic appearance, the adidas by Rick Owens Springblade sneakers will also come with a low cut design and with boot-like design, which means that adidas fans would have plenty of choices to pick from. The normal, boot and low-cut version are expected to become available for purchase this year, which is good news for all you sports fans out there.

Luxe Cinema Experience at Embassy Diplomat Screens, Bangkok

You think your home movie theater system is so awesome that you don’t even need to go to the cinema anymore? Well, what if we introduced you to a whole new cinema experience, on a new level of luxury and comfort? Check out the recently opened Embassy Diplomat Screens in Bangkok!

The new deluxe theater is part of the Thai capital’s Central Embassy luxury mall, and it pampers its guests with all-you-can-drink minibars, cozy blankets and pillows, snacks and an on-call butler. Obviously, the state-of-the-art seats are amazing, super comfortable and they even have a phone charger outlet.

Just take your seat, adjust your personal light to your preference, safely hang your bag on the hanger and enjoy the experience. With this kind of treatment, the movie itself almost becomes irrelevant. One ticket is 900THB ($28), but something tells us you won’t regret spending that money on a film.

Movie goers will also have the chance to choose from a number of seating options (cozy couches, cocoon-style seats, or reclining daybeds). Oh, and did we mention that designers Rockwell Group Europe make the extra effort to install a fireplace in the lounge?

Incredibly Exciting Water Hoverboard by Franky Zapata

A new first in the world of watersports is here, ladies and gentlemen! Behold the Water Hoverboard, an awesome contraption that will make your body pump adrenaline like there’s no tomorrow! It is the perfect new toy for this summer and we know many of you will love it.

After having created the Flyboard (which was basically a water jet pack), Franky Zapata has brought something new to our attention and we’re kind of hooked already. The Water Hoverboard features a powerful water jet that can propel a grown person to up to 16 feet above the water.

Once you learn how to master the beast, it will probably become your favorite summer activity ever. You will be able to perform all sorts of flips, spins and other tricks at 16 miles per hour or so. Lazy summer days are over if you ask us!

Harley Davidson’s Project LiveWire Electric Bike

People are getting better and better at creating awesome vehicles with eco-friendly characters. The latest green goodie comes from Harley Davidsonand is called Project LiveWire. Still only in prototype form, the ride looks pretty awesome and we do hope people will soon embrace the concept.

The iconic motorcycle manufacturer says that LiveWire is only the first step towards a greener future, noting that “As a company that has seen success for 111 years, we think in generational terms about our great riding environments for the next 111 years”. Thank you, H-D!

Comparing the new concept to the first electric guitar, Harley suggests that this is not just another “electric car”, but a completely new product that just happens to have an electric engine at its core. It sounds completely different than what you’ve been used to, because it does not intend to copy an existing vehicle, but rather be a new one with its own unmistakable identity.

The company invites us all to have a taste of this new and unique experience and then give our feedback. Project LiveWire will go on tour across America asking everybody to come, have a look, enjoy a test drive and give an opinion.

As for technical specifications, we only have little information to share. The bike needs less than 4 seconds to reach 60 mph and has a top speed of 90+ mph. The battery needs about 3 to 4 hours to charge and can take you on 130-mile cruises. If you want to learn and see more, make sure you don’t miss the bike’s tour on Route 66, which will include stops in over 30 H-D dealerships. The experience will continue in 2015 in Europe and Canada as well.

The Magical Lofoten Archipelago in Norway

Normally, you would think twice before deciding to take a vacation at latitude 68°N. For those of you who are not familiar with latitude coordinates, you should know that that value is well above the Arctic Circle. That, in turn, translates to freezing temperatures, which are usually not considered ideal for family vacations.

However, there is one really intriguing exception to that. The stunningly beautiful Lofoten archipelago is located so high on the map that winter should be experienced at around -40°F (-40°C). Very surprisingly, though, the coldest months of the year often boast temperatures above 32°F (0°C). Summer can even pamper locals and visitors with warm, 73.5°F (23°C) days.

Lofoten flaunts one of the world’s largest temperature anomalies in relation to its geographic position. And this is only one reason to visit the place. Even more importantly, the archipelago is an incredibly beautiful place on Earth. It is definitely one of the most spectacular places in Norway with steep peaks that seem to pop up directly from the water.

The rugged coast holds lovely small fishing villages tucked cozily in fjords. Norway is excellent at keeping traditions and local identity almost intact, while also enjoying intense touristic activity. The local authorities are experts at establishing a healthy balance between tourism and tradition, which only makes everything even more interesting.

Holy Mount Haguro in Japan

There is a very special pilgrimage site in Japan’s ancient province of Dewa (now Yamagata prefecture). In the Japanese Shinto religion, this is considered a holy place, but even for a non-believer it represents a wonderfully serene destination. It is called Dewa Sanzan, which means “Three Mountains of Dewa”.

Only one of the three holy mountains can be visited all year round, and that is Mount Haguro. It is also the most easily accessible of all, with a humble height of only 1,358 feet. The summit can be reached by climbing a long path with 2,466 stone steps.

The walk is not difficult, but definitely tiring, so visitors will be happy to find a lovely teahouse about halfway to the top. Here tourists can stop and enjoy some refreshments before resuming their pilgrimage towards the shrine at the summit. Here the Sanzan Gosaiden temple represents a place of veneration of the spirits of the mountains.

Also noteworthy is the place where Japanese poet Basho found inspiration for one of his famous poems. You can visit it near the tea house and then continue your way to the top of the mountain. And also make sure you don’t miss the six centuries old five-story pagoda called Goju-no-to, which is a remarkable National Treasure.

The Wonderful Hamilton Pool Preserve

Some 23 miles west of Austin, Texas lies one of the most beautiful oases of natural beauty in the country. It is the Hamilton Pool Preserve and it has been a popular summer destination for Austin locals and visitors since the 1960s. Formed thousands of years ago, the natural pool appeared after the ceiling of an underground river collapsed due to erosion.

It is now a superb swimming spot with jade green water and a 50-foot waterfall. The pool is surrounded by limestone formations from which spectacular stalactites grow downwards. The grotto’s ceiling and the surrounding cliffs are beautifully decorated with maidenhair fern, moss and cliff swallows. This area is also home to the cute but endangered golden-cheeked warbler.

In case you were wondering, the crystal clear water is not chemically treated, but you don’t have to worry about swimming in it, because it is regularly monitored and sometimes human access to the water is restricted altogether. Actually, the entire area is a protected environment, as the pool is part of the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve. It’s a little piece of heaven, some might say.

Sublime Crocodile-Shaped Stadium To Be Built In Turkey

We all know that some of the most renowned stadiums in the world are nothing short of architectural masterpieces, and even though it’s pretty hard to come up with a fully original yet functional design for a stadium these days, we’re glad to say that one might be just around the corner. The Burasapor soccer team of Turkey might soon receive its own stadium, but this will be no ordinary stadium, mind you, because it will flaunt the shape of a coiling green crocodile.

This choice of design is pretty obvious for the fans of the Turkish soccer team, but just in case you don’t really follow its progress, we’ll tell you that the team members are often referred to as the “Green Crocodiles”. This spectacular stadium was initially suggested in 2010 and would feature a unique shape as well 2 massive spotlights that would shoot beams of light directly out of the crocodile’s eyes.

The project would measure 1.6 million square feet and would undoubtedly become one of the most incredible and visited football stadiums in the world once it would be complete.

Amazing Interior Renderings Of Boeing’s New Space Capsule

Boeing recently released an incredible set of renderings regarding the interiors of its brand new space capsule, which is scheduled to be ready for space flight in 2017. Dubbed CST-100, the capsule was initially designed as a means of transportation for astronauts and cargo pieces to the International Space Station, but as its design evolved, the capsule started to become more and more luxurious and comfortable.

Based on Boeing’s vast experience in commercial air travel, it comes as no surprise that its space capsule would feature interiors that are more orientated towards comfort and privacy. Mood lighting and a reduced number of windows are just some of the most important aspects regarding the interior of this futuristic capsule.

The CST-100 would be operated by a crew of 7 that would have complete control over its functions thanks to a high-end system based on tablets. As far as the passengers are concerned, they would be able to check their email or enjoy access to various online entertainment facilities during their flight.

The Smallest Quadcopter In The World Is Called Estes Proto X

Drones are definitely fun to pilot, no doubt about it, but even though their practicality is uncontested, their subtlety leaves something to be desired most of the time. Fortunately, brilliant minds around the world are working on creating smaller and smaller drones that would be able to sneak around undetected and gain access in some of the most inaccessible spaces.

The world’s smallest nano quadcopter is called Estes Proto X, and it measures no more than 1.8 inches in width. Despite the fact that it is barely larger than a quarter, this thing comes packed with impressive technologies such as a three-accelerometer gyro, a precision triple-axis and an auto-upright system that ensures stability and self-correction in mid air.

As far as range is concerned, this drone is capable of flying for about 10 minutes on a full charge, all thanks to a 3.7V 100mAh LiPo battery that can be recharged easily via USB. The Estes Proto X also comes with a 2.4GHz radio controller that can be used to steer it around without much effort.

As you’ve guest, the new four-wheeler is larger and more powerful, boasting a 1300cc 4-stroke in-line 4-cylinder engine from BMW.
